Illinois Manufacturer's Association Makers Madness Wrap Up

On behalf of the entire Tek Pak team, we congratulate the 2023 Illinois Manufacture's Association (IMA) "Makers Madness" winner, Rosenberg Moon Habitat, named the 2023 Coolest Thing Made In Illinois. At the same time, we wanted to say again, thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for Tek Pak's Carrier Tape nomination in the IMA’s annual "Makers Madness" contest presented by Comcast Business, an online competition highlighting amazing manufacturers and the fantastic products made throughout the State of Illinois. Now in its fourth year, this bracket-style tournament lets the public decide what product earns the 2023 title of The Coolest Thing Made in Illinois!

Nearly 250 unique products from every corner of the state were nominated for this year's contest, with nominees ranging from agriculture equipment and COVID testing supplies to iconic pantry staples, sweet treats, and a variety of vehicles. Unfortunately, our entry did not receive enough votes to advance to the Top 16 bracket round.

As noted in our previous communication, Tek Pak's Carrier Tape is used in a wide variety of industry applications for a number of diverse projects that improve people's lives every day. Our team works hard each day in the development and manufacturing of our Carrier Tape line, and while we know how important this product is for our customers and the diverse projects they are executing across the globe, much of the general public is unaware of how Carrier Tape improves peoples' lives every day.

CARRIER TAPE – FAST FACTS: 

• One of the first places Tek Pak used Carrier Tape was in the development of cell phones. The tape allows millions of circuits to be placed on circuit boards every minute.
• Carrier Tape is critical to the electronics industry worldwide and is used in almost every electronic device in a home.
• Carrier Tape is so vital to the electronics industry that there is a world-size standard for all tapes produced; this allows the same tape to be used around the world.
• Many Americans have used the free U.S. Government COVID-19 at-home tests during the pandemic in the past several years. Carrier Tape was used in several processes to pack the test kits while keeping the overall labor cost at a minimum. Many lives have been saved through access to the free COVID-19 test kits, made possible in part to Carrier Tape!
